Pipeline & Storage

CP11-128-000 Northern Access Project

On October 20, 2011, National Fuel Gas Supply Corporation (National Fuel), the Pipeline and Storage segment of National Fuel Gas Company, received approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to increase transportation capacity from the company's interconnection with Tennessee Gas Pipeline at Ellisburg, PA, to the TransCanada Pipeline at Niagara, near Niagara Falls, NY.

National Fuel also received approval from FERC to construct additional compression facilities at the existing Ellisburg Compressor Station, Potter County, PA (approx. 9,500 HP); install piping modifications at the existing Concord Compressor Station, Erie County, NY; construct a new compressor station in Erie County, NY (approx. 5000 HP); and modifications to jointly owned facilities at the Lockport Compressor Station, Niagara County, NY.

The proposed project, known as the Northern Access Project, will increase National Fuel's capability to transport Pennsylvania-produced Marcellus Shale gas to the TransCanada Pipeline at Niagara, and will provide reliable, competitively priced supplies of energy to Pennsylvania, Western New York and the Northeastern United States

All proposed construction sites are on property currently controlled by National Fuel.
