General Landowner Questions
On January 7, 2010, National Fuel hosted a public meeting at the McGuffey High School in Claysville, Pennsylvania. The questions listed below were raised during these public meetings by attendees.

- How large will the compressor station be?
The compressor station will either be one 40-foot by 80-foot structure or two 20-foot by 40-foot structures.
- How wide will the right-of-way be for this project?
The right-of-way will be 66 feet wide, with additional footage to accommodate equipment that will be used during the construction process. There will be no comingling of topsoil with subsoil.
- Are you replacing a line in the area that may be mined in the future?
Our Company believes that this is an area that is less likely to be mined in the future. We also anticipate owning the mineral rights for an area surrounding the compressor station.
- Is the proposed construction close to water wells or springs?
If you have specific concerns regarding water wells or springs, we urge you to contact our Company to discuss them. Our Company will be contacting all landowners and we will work with you to avoid any problems.
- How close can the Company build near homes or other structures?
If the construction right-of-way is within 50 feet of a structure, we will need to develop a residential mitigation plan.
- How will this project fit in with Range Resources’ pipeline projects in the area that are planned for the same corridor or a parallel corridor?
Our Company will keep close contact with producers and contractors throughout construction and after the project is completed. Range Resources currently has a gathering pipeline system for the Marcellus Shale, which is primarily used to transport wet gas with a high Btu. In addition, Range Resources has processing plants that remove impurities from high Btu liquid products. After impurities are removed and the temperature is appropriate, conditioned gas can be placed into transmission pipelines headed to local distribution companies.
- How noisy will compressor station fans be?
The noise level is not to exceed 55 A-weighted decibels in noise sensitive areas, as required by FERC. However, the noise level will be dampened by the building itself. We will use the existing terrain and tree areas to further mitigate station noise. On an as-needed basis, we have planted trees in order to create additional sound barriers. However, our preference is to design and install engineered noise solutions during the original construction of our project.
- Who do we contact if we have a problem with noise from the compressor station?
Our Henderson field location is responsible for servicing this geographic area. Please feel free to contact anyone at this location should any problems arise. However, the latest technology makes noise levels very tolerable. Within our construction plan, we also have specific noise level requirements. Our Company has provided specific contact information to Washington County and Buffalo Township planning and zoning officers.
