LIHEAP Income Guidelines (Pennsylvania Customers)
You may be able to receive a one-time regular grant this heating season. This grant can help you with your home heating costs if you meet certain income guidelines. Since this grant will be based on your total energy usage, please bring your most recent gas and electric bills with you when you apply.

The 2009-2010 Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program season will open November 2, 2009. The Department of Public Welfare may extend or shorten the program depending upon availability of federal funds.
When You Are Eligible
After your application is reviewed, you will receive a written notice explaining your eligibility and the amount of assistance you will receive. Payments are generally sent directly to a utility company or fuel dealer and are credited to your account. Please allow 30 days for a response.
Crisis Grants
LIHEAP also provides an emergency crisis grant to LIHEAP-eligible customers who have an emergency situation and are in jeopardy of losing their heat. Emergency situations include:
- Broken heating equipment or leaking lines that must be fixed or replaced
- Lack of fuel
- Termination of utility service
- Danger of being without fuel or of having utility service terminated
